SEP2.security – MDR Service now available via Crown Commercial Services 3
SEP2 have been an approved supplier on the Cyber Security Services Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) since January 2020. This route to procurement has been instrumental in continuing the growth of SEP2 and provides an easy-to-use, low-cost platform for government and public sector organisations to receive the benefits of our skills and services.
The Cyber Security Services 3 DPS, also known as RM3764.3 began in early 2020 and will continue to run until early 2025. The DPS is A flexible commercial agreement that offers an extensive range of cyber security services to help improve organisational cyber resilience and security posture. The DPS is open for use by all UK central government departments, wider public sector organisations and charities. To be an approved supplier on the CC3 DPS, organisations must be, at a minimum, Cyber Essentials certified, as well as be appointed by Crown Commercial Services.
The original scope of the CSS3 DPS allowed for services such as consultancy, advice, incident response and penetration testing.
In July 2022, Crown Commercial Services expanded the scope of the Cyber Security Services 3 DPS to now also include a category of “Managed Security Services”, which is comprised of Security Operations Centre (SOC) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services.
The launch of the SEP2.security MDR service in June 2022 was perfectly timed, as SEP2 are now able to offer their MDR service, built on and powered by Google, to the full range of public sector organisations.
SEP2.security is a modular service, primarily composed of the Google Chronicle and Siemplify components providing Security Information and Events Management (SIEM), and Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) functionality. This service can also be expanded where needed to incorporate Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Network Detection and Response (NDR), as well as other supporting/ancillary services, such as our Virtual/Team Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO).
If you are interested in learning more about SEP2.security, you can read the service overview, or feel free to contact us to organise a free consultation and demo of our platform. We are excited about the prospect of working with more government and public sector organisations to help them achieve their security goals.
In addition to the expansion of the services being provided within the CSS3 DPS, Crown Commercial Services have also allowed for the recognition of ISO27001 to be considered as well as the Cyber Essentials Accreditation/Standards. As SEP2 have been ISO27001 accredited since December 2018, having this accreditation included within our offering on the DPS is another way in which we distinguish ourselves.
